Lerwick Port Authority boardroom table and chairs |

The boardroom table and chairs was commissioned by the Lerwick Port Authority for their refurbished boardroom. I felt that the table should have a boat theme to reflect the shipping industry of the Port. The idea of the design is that the underneath of the table is shaped like the keel of a boat with the supports being the ribs and the legs mirroring this downward. The table had to be moveable so that it could function in different ways so it was made in six sections. The top has a glass insert so that the sculptural legs design can be easily seen from above. The chair design complement the table with the front legs having a similar style to the legs of the table. The shape of the arms also reflect the shape of the table top.
The table is made with a maple top and Oak legs. The chairs in made in Oak with crimson upholstery.
