Guitar stand stool

The guitar stand stool was designed to combine several useful functions in the same piece as well being a beautiful piece of craftsmanship standing as a piece of sculpture in it own right.

It is made from quality hardwoods with beech legs, cherry inserts and a hand carved maple seat in the shape of a plectrum. The red cherry details symbolize the strings and machine heads and the steel rods represent the frets on the neck of the guitar.

The seating height of the stool is 450mm (18") and the height of the guitar stand is 750mm (30") there is a space between the seat and the legs of 75mm (3") which is for the storage of sheet music.

I made the prototype for this guitar stand stool when I was studying for my HND. A picture of the stool was shown in the Homes and Interior magazine as part of an article on the work which the students were producing at the Glasgow college of building and printing.
